We're seeking an energetic and engaging Part-Time After School STEM Instructor to lead exciting science, technology, engineering, and math activities for children in a lively, supportive environment. In this role, you'll foster curiosity, encourage creativity, and help students develop critical thinking skills through hands-on projects and interactive lessons. Responsibilities Lead engaging STEAM activities that are fun, safe, and educational for children of various ages Manage classroom behavior to ensure a positive learning environment using effective behavior management techniques Prepare materials and set up experiments or projects ahead of each session to maximize hands-on learning experiences Support children's individual needs by adapting activities for different learning styles and abilities, including those with special education requirements Maintain safety protocols at all times, including basic first aid procedures when necessary Foster teamwork, curiosity, and enthusiasm among students through encouraging communication and collaboration Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student progress and classroom updates Experience Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or after-school programs Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Experience managing classrooms or group activities with a focus on positive behavior management Familiarity with STEAM concepts and activities suitable for elementary or middle school students. Background in teaching, coding, childcare, theater is advantageous.
