Essential Elements:
Print The Middle School language arts teacher facilitates student success in language arts and interpersonal skills through language arts courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Advises parents and/or guardians of student progress. Assessess students to provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding students' progress, expectations, goals, etc. Assists other teachers in implementing curriculum. Collaborates with special education staff and other school personnel, parents and various community agencies to improve the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum. Demonstrates methods required to perform assignments to provide students with the necessary skills to perform the tasks safely and/or accurately. Directs instructional assistants, volunteers and/or students aides to provide an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual students. Instructs students to improve their success in academic, interpersonal and daily living skills through a defined course of study. Monitors student activities to provide a safe and optimal learning environment. Prepares teaching materials and reports to implement lesson plans and provide documentation of teacher and student progress. Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, etc.) to maintain personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code, district and/or school policies.Requirements / Qualifications
