  • 4:15 Art With Susan | East Bay, CA | Starting September 2026 Do you love working with kids and have a thing for making stuff?
We might be looking for you. Art With Susan is a beloved East Bay mobile creative art studio offering after-school art classes, camps, and workshops for children ages 5-10. We believe kids learn best when they feel safe, seen, and free to create in their own way. Our classes are warm, hands-on, and rooted in process over product. We are looking for a part-time teacher to lead our Fibers & Textiles (you do not need to be an expert!) after-school class starting in September. This is a weekly class of up to 12 kids in grades 2-5, and you will be the sole teacher. Susan will be teaching another class in a room close by. What you'll be doing: Teaching basic fiber arts techniques — weaving, stitching, embroidery, knotting, and more. You do not need to be an expert, just willing to learn! Setting up and breaking down the outdoor classroom independently Managing a warm, creative, and engaged environment Communicating with parents at pickup, taking attendance Promptly bringing students to the aftercare room after class Following a provided curriculum with room to bring your own ideas You are a great fit if you: Have experience working with kids ages 5-10 Are patient, calm under pressure, and naturally warm Can hold a class of 12 kids with confidence and kindness Know the basics of fibers and textiles or are excited to learn alongside your students Believe that the process of making is more important than the finished product Are reliable, punctual, and take commitments seriously You don't need to be: A professional artist or fiber arts expert An experienced classroom teacher Perfect — just present, patient, and passionate about kids and making
