Summer Camp STEM Enrichment Teacher esme learning Palo Alto, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $30 - $60 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification First aid Math Working with children Classroom experience Classroom behavior management Teaching Full Job Description Job Summary The Summer Camp STEM Enrichment Teacher is responsible for planning and leading engaging STEM learning experiences for elementary-aged children (Kindergarten-4th Grade). The teacher will create a fun, structured, and hands-on learning environment where children can explore science, math, engineering, and beginner robotics while building problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence. Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate STEM curriculum for small-group and whole-group instruction. Lead engaging lessons in science experiments, math enrichment, logic and problem-solving, engineering projects, hands-on STEM exploration, and beginner robotics/coding activities. Introduce children to beginner coding concepts, robotics exploration, and computational thinking when applicable. Create a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth. Maintain classroom organization, learning materials, and enrichment spaces. Supervise children during classroom activities, transitions, snack time, and outdoor play. Support individualized learning needs and adapt instruction for different developmental and academic levels. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and summer program planning meetings as required. Follow all health, safety, and licensing procedures. Minimum Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree or current college enrollment in Education, Child Development, STEM-related fields, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with elementary-aged children in schools, camps, tutoring, after-school programs, or enrichment settings preferred. Strong background in STEM education, especially science and math instruction. Experience with robotics, coding platforms (Scratch, LEGO Robotics, etc.), or engineering projects is strongly preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to create engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences. Caring, energetic, patient, and passionate about children's learning and development. Preferred Certifications CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred) Teaching Permit (preferred) or Substitute Teaching Permit Expected Working Hours Monday to
Friday Typical Summer Camp Hours:
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Part-time afternoon positions may also be available
Pay:
$30.00 - $60.00 per hour
