About the Position Paradise Unified School District is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Day Class (SDC) Teacher to serve students with significant learning needs at Paradise Jr High School. The SDC teacher provides specialized instruction, structured supports, and individualized programming to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This role is ideal for an educator who believes in high expectations, inclusive practices, and meeting students where they are to help them succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in a Special Day Class setting. Design and implement individualized instructional plans aligned with student IEP goals. Develop, monitor, and maintain IEPs and progress reports in compliance with state and federal regulations. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, behavioral supports, and differentiated instruction. Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive opportunities when appropriate. Supervise and work collaboratively with instructional aides and support staff. Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetings and student support teams. Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student growth and independence.
