About the Role Dream Enrichment Classes is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and engaging instructors to teach exciting after-school enrichment programs for elementary school students throughout the Greater Sacramento area. We are currently hiring instructors for the following programs: Art & Mixed Media (drawing, painting, clay, crafts) Basic Cooking & Culinary Activities Chess Spanish Language Enrichment Junior Robotics Early Engineers Block-Based Coding Minecraft Coding, Redstone & Building We are also hiring substitute instructors who can provide coverage at various school sites as needed. This is a rewarding part-time opportunity for educators, college students, aspiring teachers, artists, STEM enthusiasts, and individuals who enjoy working with children in a positive, hands-on learning environment. What You'll Do Lead engaging enrichment classes for students in grades 2-6 Create a fun, safe, and inclusive classroom environment Follow provided curriculum and lesson materials Encourage creativity, teamwork, and student participation Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement strategies Take attendance and communicate professionally with staff and families Arrive prepared and on time to assigned school sites Schedule Part-time afternoon position Typical hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 1:00 PM-5:00 PM Most instructors work between 5-10 hours per week Candidates with partial availability are still encouraged to apply Locations Classes take place in person at elementary school campuses throughout the Sacramento region. Instructors are assigned based on availability, experience, and proximity to school sites. Reliable transportation is required, as instructors travel directly to assigned campuses. Qualifications Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of experience working with children Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Ability to pass a background check Comfortable leading groups of elementary-aged students Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching enrichment programs, camps, tutoring, or after-school classes CPR and/or First Aid Certification Experience in STEM, art, coding, education, or youth development Strong communication and classroom management skills Ideal Candidate Traits Fun, energetic, and creative Dependable and professional Patient and encouraging with children Organized and self-motivated Passionate about education and hands-on learning Compensation & Benefits $20-$24 per hour depending on experience and program expertise Flexible scheduling Employee discounts Meaningful work making a positive impact on students Opportunities for additional classes and substitute assignments Commitment Applicants should ideally be available through the end of the 2026-2027 school year (September 2026 through May 2027).
