Summer preschool Instructor - Temporary Early Bloom Community San Francisco, CA Job Details Temporary | Part-time $22 - $30 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work Environmental Science Environmental education Gardening Teaching Full Job Description Overview Part-Time Preschool Instructor (Summer) We're looking for a warm, reliable, and engaging instructor to lead small-group workshops for preschool-aged children this summer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on learning, has a genuine interest in nature and environmental sciences, and feels comfortable guiding young children through outdoor or nature-inspired activities. Position Details Part-time, temporary summer role (June-August) 1 day per week, 3-4 hours per day (mostly Friday mornings) Small group sizes
Compensation Pay:
$22.00/hour, plus a seasonal completion bonus equivalent to an additional $8.00 per hour worked, payable upon successful completion of the contracted summer assignment and terms outlined in the offer letter. What You'll Do Lead interactive, age-appropriate workshops for children ages 2-5 Facilitate activities inspired by nature, the environment, and basic science concepts Create a positive, nurturing, and structured environment Guide hands-on experiences (sensory play, simple experiments, outdoor exploration, etc.) Manage transitions and maintain engagement throughout sessions Communicate clearly with program coordinators as needed Perform light gardening maintenance of school garden beds Required Qualifications Experience working with preschool-aged children (teaching, childcare, camps, etc.) Ability to lead small groups independently with confidence and care Energetic, patient, and dependable Reliable transportation (car or e-bike) Reuired Qualifications Background in early childhood education, environmental science, or a related field (preferred but not required) Passion for nature, environmental education, or outdoor learning Gardening knowledge or hands-on experience (a strong plus) Additional Details This is a temporary, seasonal position with potential for future opportunities Materials and general lesson structure will be provided, with room for creativity and instructor input If you love working with young children and feel excited about introducing them to the natural world, we'd love to hear from you.
