Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, facilitating nature workshops and educational activities in a safe and engaging environment. This is a project-based 1099 independent contractor position requiring reliability, enthusiasm, and the ability to independently develop and facilitate engaging outdoor learning experiences for young children. Position Details Four workshop sessions during August 2026 Small group sizes (3-5-year-olds) Compensation $40-$50 per workshop session Workshop length: 30-60 minutes Compensation for lesson preparation and material development will be negotiated and specified in the service contract. What You'll Do Deliver four nature-based workshops aligned with an agreed-upon theme. Develop lesson plans, activities, and instructional materials using independent professional judgment. Provide all instruction and facilitation for contracted workshop sessions. Manage workshop setup, implementation, and cleanup. Adapt activities as needed based on participant engagement, weather, and site conditions. Maintain a safe learning environment during workshop activities. Coordinate with the program organizer regarding themes, dates, and participant information. Required Qualifications Experience independently leading educational, environmental, outdoor, nature-based, camp, museum, or enrichment programs for children ages 3-8. Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Knowledge of nature education, environmental education, outdoor learning, biology, ecology, gardening, wildlife, or related subjects. Ability to independently develop curriculum and activities aligned with a provided theme. Background check and pediatric CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Selected contractor may be required to satisfy site-specific safety or screening requirements imposed by participating schools. Experience providing educational services as an independent contractor, consultant, instructor, naturalist, camp educator, or enrichment provider is preferred. To Apply Please reply with your resume
