  • Moderate/Severe Disabilities Education Specialist Instruction Credential with EL authorization.

Required:
  • Knowledge of teaching methods and instructional strategies appropriate to a variety of disabilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress on a regular basis, participate in the review and revision of IEPs.
  • Provides instruction on an individual or small group basis as needed or specified in the pupil's individual education plan.
Desired:
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents and community.
  • Coordinate Special Education services with general education for individuals with exceptional needs.
  • Arrange and conduct parent conferences assuring parent awareness of student progress, enlisting parent cooperation and involvement in program planning and development.
  • Supports students in social skills development in the classroom, at recess, and other activities.
  • Continues planned professional self-improvement.
