We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, independence, and meaningful relationships. Our close-knit school community values curiosity, respect, and whole-child development. We are looking for team members who enjoy creating positive experiences that help children build confidence, develop new skills, and have fun. Position Overview We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and dependable After-School Movement Instructor to lead an engaging after-school enrichment program. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged children and is passionate about promoting movement, teamwork, and healthy habits through active, engaging experiences.
Program Details School:
Public Montessori school (Grades K-5)
Group Size:
Approximately 10-20 students
Schedule:
One afternoon per week, 3:15-4:45 p.m.
Support:
Parent volunteers will assist with supervision and activities throughout the program. Program Focus We're looking for an instructor who can share their passion for movement.
Programs may include:
Sports Dance Fitness Martial arts Yoga Recreational games Other movement-based activities We welcome instructors with creative ideas and encourage them to design the program around their area of expertise. Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate movement activities. Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every child can participate. Adapt activities to meet a variety of ages, abilities, and experience levels. Work collaboratively with parent volunteers to support students and manage activities. Maintain positive behavior expectations and ensure student safety. Qualifications Experience working with children through teaching, coaching, camps, childcare, or similar settings. Passion for sports, dance, fitness, martial arts, or other movement-based activities. Positive, patient, and energetic approach to working with children. Strong communication and group leadership skills. Reliable, organized, and punctual. As an independent contractor, you are not considered an employee of the school. This position is not eligible for employee benefits , including health insurance, paid time off, or retirement benefits. Taxes will not be withheld from your payments. Contractors are responsible for reporting their own income and paying any applicable federal, state, and self-employment taxes.
