MATH TEACHER GENERAL INFORMATION
Villa Bella Expeditionary (VBE) is a K-8th District 70 charter school. VBE uses Expeditionary Learning for its language arts curriculum and Illustrative Math. As a newer school, our teachers have the opportunity to be part of a new and growing organization that demands immense work, entrepreneurship, and creativity. We follow the District 70 academic calendar with minimal modifications. We require professional development on one Friday a month. Executive Director PRIMARY FUNCTION
The crew leader has the lead role in the classroom as a learning facilitator, instructor, coach, mentor, and tutor. The crew leader provides a personalized learning environment for all students that incorporates collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, technology, and communication to support meaningful learning targets aligned with the Colorado State Standards. Required - Bachelor's Degree ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions to meet all Colorado State Teacher Standards. Support the planning and implementation of the VBE's strategic plan. Design, implement, and assess learning experiences that utilize research-based, culturally relevant instructional practices, technology, and digital information resources to fully implement the VBE's curriculum. Respond to explorer needs derived from the evaluation of explorer achievement data. Collect and maintain explorer achievement data requested by the supervisor. Embed effective instructional technology utilizing Apple TV, mobile devices, social, collaborative online communities, personalized learning software, web-based assessments, computer applications, and digital resources. Apply knowledge to facilitate and communicate effective differentiated classroom practices and educational pedagogy appropriate to general education, English as a Second Language, and special education students. Promote, support, and model exploration of real-world issues and the solving of authentic problems. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities. Evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice regularly to effectively use existing and emerging instructional practices and resources to support explorer learning. Reflect collaboratively with teachers regularly on research-based differentiated instructional practices, integration of information technology, and explorer achievement. Advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources. Communicate effectively with parents through various methods and tools, including parent/teacher conferences, phone calls, e-mails, and meetings. Demonstrate leadership by actively participating in building and district professional learning communities. Maintain competency in information, technology, and media literacies by participating in online collaborative learning environments and professional learning activities. Reflect on current competencies in the Expeditionary Learning curriculum, research-based instructional practices, and instructional technology to identify growth areas for personal and professional learning. Maintain competency in research-based instructional practices, instructional technology, and information literacy standards by participating in appropriate professional learning activities (district professional learning, conferences, workshops, and summer academic meetings. TECHNICAL:
