About Us:
Donna Klein Jewish Academy (DKJA) is a premier community Jewish day school dedicated to fostering academic excellence, character development, and a deep connection to Jewish values. Located in Boca Raton, Florida, DKJA provides an engaging, student-centered learning environment where educators inspire young minds to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Position Overview:
DKJA seeks a passionate and dynamic Middle School Science Teacher to join our faculty. We are looking for an innovative educator who fosters a love of STEM. This position involves teaching Earth Science, Biology, or Chemistry and Beginning Physics. Additionally, the ideal candidate will also be comfortable teaching math through algebra. As we strive to build critical thinkers, problem solvers and leaders fostering a supportive and interactive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and inquiry is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons in science
  • Comfortability with Biology, Earth Science, or Chemistry and Physics
  • Incorporate diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary connections with a special focus on math, writing, and technology.
  • Develop students' skills when navigating informational text in reading, writing, research, and critical thinking through project-based learning, discussions, and creative assignments.
  • Create a student-centered learning environment that encourages a passion for inquiry, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
  • Integrate Jewish values and ethics into classroom discussions and curriculum
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, using innovative teaching methods that may include technology.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and provide meaningful feedback to support growth.
  • Design and teach enrichment STEM clubs allowing students to explore
  • Foster an environment of experiential learning, where students take ownership of their education through hands-on projects and inquiry-based activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administrators, to enhance student success and curriculum development.
  • Partner with parents to support student learning in and beyond the classroom.
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities that enrich the school community.
  • Serve as a student advisor to a small grade level group of students.
  • Create and facilitate a unique STREAM based choice elective in collaboration with a grade level team.
  • Support daily operations of the school including coverage of students.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Math, or a related field (Master's preferred). Must be able to provide transcripts.
  • Teaching certification and/or experience in middle school science and /or math preferred.
  • Passion for fostering critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills in students.
  • Ability to integrate Jewish values and perspectives into the curriculum.
  • Experience in leading a workshop or project-based learning environments.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction, student-led learning, and educational technology is a plus.
