Job Description

Teacher - Microschool with Real Work-Life Balance (Out by 2:30, One Week Off Monthly) Roots Academy of Brooksville |
Brooksville, FL Pay:
$45,000-$50,000/year based on experience At Roots Academy, we're doing school differently — and we're looking for a teacher ready to be part of something extraordinary. Here, you actually have time to care. With truly small class sizes and an unhurried pace, you get to know each child and meet them exactly where they are. No teaching to the middle. No racing through curriculum. Just real teaching, real connection, and the kind of growth that happens when kids feel seen.
Why teachers love it here:
Out by 2:30 PM most days One full week off every month Afternoon project-based curriculum fully provided Morning academics use a clear scope and sequence — you plan from a strong foundation, not from scratch Truly small class sizes No standardized testing or report card marathons Plenty of time outdoors as part of the school day Many tasks can be done from home A solution-oriented , collaberative team The day: Mornings are academic foundations (reading, writing, Singapore Math) in small leveled groups using our scope and sequence but teachers get to decide to make their learning fun. Afternoons are project-based, often outdoors, with curriculum and materials fully provided. You'll thrive here if you: Believe relationships are the foundation of classroom management See behavior as communication Are comfortable teaching outdoors and in flexible spaces Communicate warmly with families Bring joy and professionalism to your work We're looking for: Teaching experience in any setting (private, public, microschool, homeschool co-op, forest school — all welcome) Strong communication skills Comfort outdoors and in non-traditional spaces
Bonus:
Montessori, Reggio, or Waldorf background; multi-age experience; Florida teaching certificate. We currently do not have retirement or health benefits. Ready to apply? Send your resume and a short note about why this kind of teaching speaks to you. We read every application personally.
