Middle School Language Arts Teacher Posnack School Davie, FL Job Details Full-time | Contract 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 403(b) Retirement plan Qualifications Teamwork Teaching Certification English Bachelor's degree Working with students Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description For the 26/27 School Year The Middle School Language Arts Teacher will give students a successful foundation of the rules of grammar, language, and the writing process to build on throughout the rest of their educational careers. Teach the love of literature and poetry. Responsibilities and Duties Set high academic standards for every student in class while still adapting to the individual needs of each student. Prepare lesson plans in advance. Thoughtfully integrate instructional technology—including emerging AI tools—into planning, collaboration, differentiation, and assessment, in alignment with the school's educational philosophy. Teach different classes the rules of grammar, punctuation, spelling and other nuances of the English language through the writing process. Track and report performance data to determine where changes need to be made and which strategies and methods are working. Attend special events held by the school and engage with students and/or parents in an appropriate, friendly way. Attend work a maximum of eight working days prior to the commencement of classes and two administrative days following the conclusion of the spring semester of the school year Participate in the ongoing curriculum development of the school and attend all teacher meetings. Communicate with the parents of each student. Prepare and present regular oral and written reports to parents concerning their child's education and welfare. Maintain student and family confidentially both on and off campus. Performs other duties as may be deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the department. It is essential for the Employee to arrive on time to work every scheduled work day. It is essential for the Employee to maintain good attendance and give ample notice, when possible, when Employee will be absent. It is essential for Employee to speak to co-workers with respect and to follow all of the requirements and expectations in the Employee Handbook. Teachers are expected to:
Demonstrate a growth mindset toward instructional technology and AI. Incorporate digital tools to enrich instruction, differentiate learning, and support student success. Model ethical, responsible, and transparent technology use for students. Qualifications The Middle School Language Arts Teacher must have a valid FLDOE Teaching/Temporary Certificate in English grades 5-9 or grades 6-12 or in the process of obtaining certification. Must have a bachelor's degree. Two years of teaching experience preferred. Must be proficient in the use of instructional technology and online textbooks. Salary based on experience.
