Job Description

Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Merritt Island is looking for a dedicated Reading Teacher for their middle school students. A middle school reading teacher improves students' literacy skills through specialized instruction, targeted interventions, and engaging classroom activities. They assess reading levels, develop personalized learning plans, and help adolescents overcome comprehension obstacles to meet grade-level standards.
Requirements:
FLDOE Certification in Reading K-12 required
OR FLDOE

Sandra@Brevardschools.org, but a BEACON application is required for serious consideration. Starting instructional pay is $50,450 per year, plus there is a pay supplement for advanced degrees. Please note salary is based on verifiable years of experience as per District guidelines. Did you know that Brevard Public Schools offers our instructional staff a pay supplement based on years of experience? Our voters passed a millage in 2022 and all instructional staff, from zero to 19+ years of experience, will receive a supplement . The pay ranges based on years of experience, but for a teacher with 19+ years' experience, that's approximately an additional $8,110 (pay and supplement are prorated based on start date) in your pocket! This raises the overall compensation higher than our neighboring school districts.
