Job Description

The Miami Children's Museum is looking for a dynamic and dedicated TCT Afterschool Instructor to join our afterschool team at Brentwood Elementary School and make a lasting impact on young learners! This is more than just a teaching job—it's a chance to help shape minds, support social-emotional growth, and turn every afternoon into an adventure.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supervise and lead a classroom of students in a fun, safe, and engaging environment Create and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with program goals and curriculum Use storytelling, art, music, science, and exploration to spark imagination and learning Track student attendance, maintain accurate sign-in/out logs, and always know your classroom count Foster positive behavior and create incentive systems to support student growth Partner with school teachers, site coordinators, and parents to support each child's success Communicate with supervisors and caregivers to resolve issues and celebrate achievements Attend trainings and professional development to grow your skills Maintain confidentiality and a positive, collaborative team spirit Other duties as assigned Requirements Working toward an Associate's degree or higher in education (or two years of college credits) At least 1 year of experience leading groups of children in educational settings Strong classroom management and organizational skills Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) CPR/First Aid/AED certified (or willing to obtain) Must pass Level 2 background check and drug test A passion for working with children and inspiring curiosity through hands-on learning
