Job Description

Middle School Science Teacher Naples, FL 34104 From $55,500 a year - Full-time, Contract From $55,500 a year - Full-time, Contract Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science lessons that support student mastery of state academic standards. Implement STEM-focused instructional strategies, including inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and hands-on laboratory experiences. Integrate technology and engineering design principles into science instruction. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, linguistic, and social-emotional needs of all students. Utilize student performance data to drive instructional planning and intervention. Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress. Maintain accurate records of student achievement and communicate progress regularly to students and families. Classroom Environment Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and orderly learning environment. Promote high expectations for student achievement, behavior, and engagement. Implement the school's behavior management systems and restorative practices. Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety procedures and protocols. STEM Program Development Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary STEM learning experiences. Facilitate student participation in science fairs, STEM competitions, robotics programs, and other enrichment opportunities. Support the integration of STEM initiatives across grade levels and content areas. Foster creativity, innovation, and real-world application of scientific concepts. Collaboration and Professional Responsibilities Participate in professional learning communities, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives. Collaborate with special education teachers, ESOL teachers, interventionists, and instructional coaches to support student success. Engage in ongoing professional development and continuous improvement efforts. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community partners. Support the mission, vision, and core values of the charter school. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, STEM Education, or a related field. Valid state teaching certification or eligibility for certification. Demonstrated knowledge of state science standards and instructional best practices. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to educational equity and high expectations for all students. Preferred Master's degree in Education, Science, or a related field. Experience teaching in a charter school or STEM-focused educational environment. Experience with project-based learning (PBL), inquiry-based instruction, and STEM integration. ESOL endorsement or experience working with English Language Learners. Experience using educational technology and learning management systems.
