Job Description
Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic STEM Teacher to join our K-8 charter school team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through hands-on, inquiry-based learning across the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The STEM teacher will design and implement engaging, grade-appropriate lessons that build students' critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, while integrating 21st-century learning practices. Responsibilities Develop and deliver age-appropriate STEM lessons for students in grades K-8 that align with state standards and school curriculum. Create engaging, hands-on projects and activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and innovation. Integrate technology into instruction, including coding, robotics, and digital tools. Collaborate with classroom teachers to incorporate STEM across content areas and support interdisciplinary learning. Manage materials, equipment, and safety in the STEM lab or classroom. Assess student progress using a variety of assessment tools and use data to guide instruction. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and parent communication. Lead or support STEM-related clubs, events, competitions, or enrichment opportunities (e.g., science fair, coding club, STEM night). Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM field, or related area Valid teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) in Elementary Education or related field Experience teaching or working with K-8 students Strong knowledge of STEM instructional practices, curriculum design, and technology integration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students and staff.
