The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics instruction, a passion for working with middle school students, and a commitment to academic excellence. The teacher will design engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons for students in grades 6-8, helping them build conceptual understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills in mathematics. This role requires strong classroom management, the ability to differentiate instruction, and a dedication to fostering curiosity and intellectual growth in young learners. You will also… Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics lessons for students in grades 6-8. Promote conceptual understanding and real-world application of mathematical principles. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, readiness levels, and interests of students. Assess student learning through both formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and support academic growth. Foster a classroom environment built on respect, collaboration, and intellectual risk-taking. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support students' academic progress and confidence in mathematics. Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom updates. Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and strengthen the middle school program. Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as an engaged member of the community. Model the mission and values of Park Maitland School through professionalism, reflection, and a commitment to continuous improvement. What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid teaching certification in mathematics or middle school education. Previous teaching experience in a middle school setting preferred. Strong understanding of best practices in middle school math instruction and adolescent development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment. Proficiency in using technology to support instruction and student learning. Commitment to professional growth, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
