The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional skills, a passion for literacy and social sciences, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment. This role involves developing engaging curricula, integrating learning technology, and supporting students' academic growth across reading, writing, history, and social studies disciplines. Experience with diverse learners, classroom management, and curriculum design is highly valued to ensure students achieve their full potential. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in reading and social studies. Incorporate instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, literacy skills, and social awareness. Utilize various learning technologies and digital resources to enhance student engagement and understanding. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations; provide timely feedback to support improvement. Develop differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations. Maintain a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior strategies. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, and school initiatives. Engage in ongoing professional development related to education best practices, instructional design, and subject matter expertise. Support students' social-emotional development through mentoring, guidance, and fostering a respectful classroom community. Prepare students for standardized testing by integrating relevant skills into daily instruction. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Social Studies, or related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification/license for middle school education. Demonstrated experience teaching middle school students in reading, social studies, or related subjects. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and instructional design principles. Excellent writing skills including creative writing, copy editing, proofreading, and research capabilities. Familiarity with learning technology tools such as educational software and digital platforms. Experience with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and higher education teaching methodologies is advantageous. Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners including those in special education or with language needs. Effective communication skills along with organizational skills necessary for lesson planning and classroom coordination.
