• Full-time Orlando Science Charter School K-8 seeks a passionate and dedicated Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our vibrant learning community.

In this role, you will: Develop comprehensive Social Studies curriculums aligned with state and national standards, ensuring coverage of a variety of historical periods and geographical areas. Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that sparks curiosity, encourages active participation, and promotes critical thinking skills. Utilize a student-centered approach with interactive discussions, problem-solving activities, and technology integration to enhance learning. Implement differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of all students. Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and administrators regarding student progress. Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and provide constructive feedback. Continuously seek opportunities to improve your teaching practice through workshops, conferences, and ongoing self-reflection. Work effectively with colleagues, specialists, and school leadership to ensure a cohesive educational program. Consider initiating or participating in Social Studies clubs, projects, or competitions to further student engagement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Valid Florida State Teaching Certification or eligible to receive one. Strong classroom management skills. Knowledge of assessment methods and differentiated instruction strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Education or Social Studies. Enthusiasm for fostering a love of Social Studies in middle school students. Experience teaching Social Studies.
