This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to develop and deliver dynamic curricula that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in STEM education, classroom management, and working with middle school students, with a focus on integrating learning technology into everyday lessons. Your role will be pivotal in cultivating a vibrant learning environment where students can explore robotics concepts through creative projects, collaborative activities, and real-world applications. Duties Design and implement engaging lesson plans that introduce robotics, coding, and engineering principles aligned with curriculum standards. Develop innovative curriculum materials that incorporate the latest learning technology tools to enhance student understanding. Mentor students through project-based activities, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and perseverance in robotics challenges. Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, inclusive environment conducive to active learning. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches such as math, physics, and computer science into robotics lessons. Organize extracurricular clubs or competitions related to robotics and technology to foster student engagement beyond the classroom. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM fields, or related disciplines; teaching certification preferred. Proven experience teaching middle school students in a classroom setting with strong classroom management skills. Knowledge of robotics platforms (such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics), coding languages (such as Python or Java), and learning technology tools. Familiarity with curriculum development standards including AP style and Chicago Manual of Style for educational materials. Excellent communication skills for effective public speaking, mentoring, and parent engagement. Strong background in math subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and standardized testing preparation. Experience working with children with diverse learning needs or in special education settings is a plus. Ability to develop creative lesson plans that incorporate childhood development principles and literacy education strategies.
