This role focuses on building strong foundational knowledge in science while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world application through hands-on and project-based learning. The ideal candidate is passionate about science education, skilled in classroom instruction, and able to create a structured yet dynamic learning environment that prepares students for high school and beyond. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver science lessons aligned with middle school standards (Physical, Life, and Earth Science) Create a structured classroom environment that supports student engagement and academic growth Incorporate hands-on experiments, labs, and project-based learning experiences Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and informal evaluations Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress with parents as needed Maintain classroom management and uphold school expectations for behavior and professionalism Collaborate with school leadership and fellow teachers on curriculum and student support Prepare students for end-of-course assessments and higher-level science coursework Instructional Approach Emphasis on concept mastery over memorization Integration of real-world applications and problem-solving Use of interactive labs and experiments to reinforce learning Encouraging student inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking Qualifications Strong content knowledge in middle school science (biology, chemistry, physics concepts) Experience teaching or working with students in a classroom or educational setting Ability to simplify complex concepts for middle school learners Strong classroom management and organizational skills Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred Preferred (but not required) Teaching certification Experience with project-based or inquiry-based learning Familiarity with STEM tools, labs, or experimental design What We Offer Above-market compensation based on experience and role structure Small class sizes with a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio , allowing for individualized instruction and stronger student relationships Supportive, collaborative teaching environment Opportunity to teach in a hands-on, project-based learning model
