Middle School Language Arts Teacher (2026-2027 School Year) Hillel Academy - Tampa, FL Hillel Academy is seeking an exceptional Middle School Language Arts Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an important role within our school community, ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about developing strong readers, writers, and critical thinkers in a supportive, values-driven environment. Position Overview The Middle School Language Arts Teacher will teach separate classes across multiple middle school grade levels in small class settings, allowing for meaningful relationships and rich classroom instruction. Our program emphasizes novel-based learning, with a strong focus on: Critical thinking Analytical reading Writing development Student voice and expression This role requires a thoughtful educator who can differentiate instruction, inspire students, and cultivate a love of literature and writing. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous Language Arts instruction aligned with best practices Teach separate classes across multiple middle school grade levels, differentiating instruction to meet learning needs Facilitate novel-based units that promote deep comprehension, analysis, and discussion Develop students' writing skills across genres, with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and voice Use data and assessment to inform instruction and provide actionable feedback Foster a classroom environment that is warm, structured, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating Communicate effectively and proactively with students, families, and colleagues Collaborate with colleagues and contribute positively to school culture and community Participate in ongoing professional growth and school-wide initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Experience teaching middle school Language Arts strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to teach writing and literary analysis effectively Experience with or familiarity with curricula such as Wit & Wisdom or Arts & Letters is a plus Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills Commitment to student-centered, engaging instruction and continuous professional growth What We're Looking For We are seeking a teacher who: Is passionate about literature and writing Holds high expectations while building strong relationships with students Creates a classroom where students feel safe to think, take risks, and grow Brings energy, creativity, and professionalism to their work Is aligned with a mission-driven school culture that values both excellence and character Why Join Hillel Academy?
