Middle School English Teacher

Job Title:

6th Grade English Language Arts (ELA)

Teacher Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading and writing while delivering high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that supports student growth and achievement. This role requires a commitment to creating an engaging, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned to Florida's B.E.S.T. Standards Develop lessons that build reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills Use data from assessments (including FAST) to inform instruction and differentiate for diverse learners Create a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and accountability Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including small group instruction and technology integration Monitor and communicate student progress with parents and guardians regularly Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and administration during PLCs Maintain accurate records of student performance and meet all district and state requirements Support school-wide initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field Valid Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility) in English Language Arts or Elementary Education Knowledge of Florida's B.E.S.T. Standards and state assessments (FAST) Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction accordingly Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching middle school

ELA ESOL

endorsement or Reading Endorsement Experience with differentiated instruction and intervention strategies
