This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curricula, foster a positive classroom environment, and support students' academic growth. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to literacy education, ensuring each student reaches their full potential through innovative teaching methods and personalized mentorship. Duties Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating creative writing, literacy education, and language arts principles Develop engaging instructional materials that incorporate learning technology and support diverse learning styles Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations Provide individualized tutoring and academic advising to support students' unique needs and learning goals Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives Mentor students in journalism, research projects, and library services to enhance their research skills and critical thinking abilities Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; higher education teaching experience preferred Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students with strong classroom management skills Knowledge of AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, proofreading techniques, and copy editing practices Familiarity with learning technology tools and instructional design methodologies Experience in curriculum development for literacy education, creative writing, and standardized testing preparation Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those requiring special education or Montessori approaches Excellent communication skills paired with organizational skills for lesson planning and instructional delivery Demonstrated mentoring abilities in academic advising or extracurricular activities such as journalism or creative writing projects Strong research skills complemented by experience in library services or education administration Join us in shaping the future by empowering middle school students through inspiring English instruction.
