Job Description

Who We Are The Andrew P. Stewart Center is a community development nonprofit organization in southwest Atlanta that exists to see our neighbors living purposeful lives in pursuit of their full potential. The organization promotes strong communities through educational enrichment, wellness resources, and housing solutions. The Center directs its resources in partnership with Pittsburgh residents to transform the neighborhood into a place of hope and opportunity. Through our elementary after-school program and youth leadership initiatives, we support young people in developing academically, socially, and emotionally while building strong relationships with families and the community. What You'll Do The After School & Youth Development position supports both our elementary after school program and middle/high school youth program. Although in the same community, After School Program and Youth Development Program are two distinct programs with different objectives. This role is responsible for creating safe, engaging, and relationship-centered environments where young people can learn and grow in both settings. After School Classroom Leader for Elementary Program Manage a group of approximately 10-20 elementary students by creating a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment. Supervise and support students during homework help, enrichment activities, meals, recreation, and program transitions. Implement positive behavior management and social-emotional learning strategies. Build meaningful relationships with students and families rooted in dignity, trust, and respect. Collaborate with staff, volunteers, community partners, and families to create high-quality program experiences. Support family engagement activities, volunteer opportunities, and community events throughout the school year. Youth Development Leader for Middle/High School Program Lead small-group activities, games, discussions, and leadership experiences for middle and high school youth. Build meaningful relationships with students and families rooted in dignity, trust, and respect. Support youth leadership development, service-learning opportunities, job readiness, educational trips (including overnight trips), and special events Assist with program logistics including attendance, setup, cleanup, material preparation, and activity coordination. Collaborate with staff, volunteers, community partners, and families to create high-quality program experiences. Support family engagement activities, volunteer opportunities, and community events throughout the school year.
What Else You Should Know:
This Atlanta-based position is part-time, about 25 hours/week. After School Program (20 hours/week) : The expected hours are 2:30pm-6:00pm, Monday-Thursday AND 12:30-6:00pm on Fridays (excluding school holidays). Youth Program (5 hours/week) : Available Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the school year Available for some Saturday activities and special events Willing to attend weekend travel including Fall Retreat and End of Year Trip.

Holidays/Breaks:
