We are seeking a dynamic, engaging individual that will be responsible for teaching Video Production and Photography curriculum in grades 9 through 12.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for teaching Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, Filmmaking, and Photography curriculum in grades 9-12. Lead a team of students to operate a weekly live broadcast production. Lead a team of students to operate the video scoreboard, replay, and music during home football games. Create videos to support the athletics program, including hype videos and lineups for football. Maintain regular office hours in order to advise and assist students in a variety of areas, including potential careers in their related field of study. Assess students and analyze results; refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs. Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices throughout the school; share best practices. Communicate regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress. Manage student behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged. Actively participate in professional development activities. Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs. Support the mission, vision, and core values of Greater Atlanta Christian School. High school faculty are also expected to serve as sponsors of student organizations and participate in campus and community events. Perform other related work as needed. Be interested in contributing to the GAC school community outside of the classroom as an athletic coach, student advisor, student club leader, or assist with other co-curricular activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A
minimum of a bachelor's degree in Video Production is required; a master's degree is preferred. Teaching experience of 3+ years. A current Georgia Renewable Teaching Certificate is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & CAPABILITIES
High level of organizational and collaboration skills. Skills teaching basic and advanced techniques of camera use, audio, and video editing. Lead with a heart of Christ and be an example of Christ to our students. Drive to improve the minds and lives of students. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members. Strong discernment skills, sound ethical judgment, and professional decision-making skills. Reflect and improve instructional practices. Embraces diversity and inclusion.
