GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
: The teacher collaborates in the effective operation of a Catholic education program by supporting the goals and spirit of Catholic education in general and the school programs in particular; ensuring an effective instructional program; continuing in professional growth; encouraging student educational growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

A teacher is expected to have competencies in the following major areas:
I. COMMUNITY OF FAITH A.
Supports and implements the mission/philosophy of Catholic education and the school B. Gives evidence of lived Gospel values C. Participates in building faith community
II. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESS A.
Demonstrates evidence of prior planning and preparation B. Presents classes clearly and effectively C. Evaluates student progress effectively D. Adjusts curriculum and instruction to provide for individual differences E. Demonstrates ability to motivate students F. Maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning in both the physical environment and the learning atmosphere G. Knows and uses technology appropriately in and during instruction
III. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS A.
Works cooperatively with administration B. Works positively with colleagues, support staff, and parish staff C. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with students D. Maintains positive interpersonal relations with parents
IV. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES A.
Develop and deliver rich, student-centered learning experiences around science, working from existing curricular frameworks, texts, and assessments. B. Provide in-school tutoring and on-campus supervision duties during the school day. C. Willingness to participate in some aspect of the school's extracurricular life, contributing to the school culture and community outside and beyond teaching. D. Exhibit a love of science in all its forms and strongly believe that all students can, and should, enjoy a hands-on college-preparatory curriculum which includes project-based instruction. E. Thorough experience with the Next Generation Science Standards and knowledge of effective differentiation and customization practices to support teaching students from diverse backgrounds, including learning differences. F. Show interest in continuing professional development in science education. G. Enjoy working with students and colleagues in collaborative settings.
V. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH A.
Keeps abreast of developments in curriculum and methodology B. Interacts with colleagues to further professional growth C. Takes advantage of opportunities for professional improvement D. Completes necessary work toward obtaining and/or maintaining a valid teaching license

$46,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
