Perform functions to instruct identified students ensuring each individual is provided with the knowledge, proficiencies and experiences necessary for academic and social success in the regular classroom. This is a FTE 1.0 Full-time position. This is a Full time 1.0 FTE Position.
Position start date:
August 2026.
Job Summary:
1. Conduct screenings to determine student eligibility in program. Review and interpret results. 2. Schedule, plan and instruct students on District and state approved curriculum in classroom and in small groups. 3. Modify, adapt and implement lessons and curriculum to meet individual student's needs and varying levels of English language proficiency. 4. Construct and conduct assessments to evaluate progress. 5. Review student progress via assessments, maintain records of student work, and develop intervention strategies to ensure student success and growth. 6. Communicate both verbally and in writing with parents and students on progress. 7. Meet regularly with other grade level or departmental Teachers and support Teachers to plan, accommodate, implement and assess lessons and progress. 8. Consult, provide advice and in-service to staff on issues relating to ELL. 9. Actively participate on various building and District teams or committees. Provide feedback and act as liaison to other building staff. 10. Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents. 11. Collaborate with other staff in planning, modifying, enhancing and implementing curriculum and school objectives. 12. Participate in staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth. Plan and incorporate best practices or new strategies. 13. Maintain accurate and current records required by state and federal requirements. 14. Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment. Act as role model on appropriate behaviors ensuring social and emotional development is progressing normally. 15. Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents. 16. Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses or conferences. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with secondary endorsements in: English Language Learner.
Rate of Pay and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and will be determined by the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, which is currently under negotiation (effective July 1, 2026). To establish a baseline, the current IPEA Salary and Stipend Schedule 2025-2026.pdf and benefits as outlined in current contract IPEA Agreement 2022-2026.pdf are available for review.
