Main functions include but are not limited to: Assisting students with developing thinking skills and content knowledge Planning and implementation of standards-based instruction Establishing a positive classroom environment and culture for learning Analyzing data and action planning Consistently communicating with stakeholders

Professional Educator's Licence (PEL) in appropriate content area Bachelor's Degree in Education with endorsement in appropriate contrent area Master's Degree preferred Endorsements in Special Education, ESL, Bilingual Education, preferred
Knowledge/Skills :
Thorough understanding of the Illinois Learning Standards Thorough knowledge of instructional strategies that lead to increased student achievement Thorough knowledge of the content being taught Strong planning and implementation skills Communicate clearly orally and in writing Strong collaboration skills Data analysis skills Knowledge/implementation of restorative discipline practices Strong understanding of equitable classroom practices High expectations for all students
