SUMMARY:
Teaches all choir classes, creating a balanced music program which incorporates curriculum requirements and assessments, and organizes daily class time to include preparation, rehearsal and instruction. Will be teaching AP Music Theory. Training will be provided if they are not currently certified to teach AP. Works with Special Education department to create inclusive opportunities for learning and performance. Works as part of the Musical production team preparing students for public performance. Plans, rehearses, and directs students in concert performances for school and community. Cooperates with school administration in providing musical programs for school productions, graduation ceremonies, and civic functions. Collaborates with middle school music teachers to create an articulated curriculum and program sequence. Serves as mentor for Fine Arts Academy students with a vocal performance concentration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree; Appropriate valid Illinois Professional Educators License with High School endorsement and Type 10, Music endorsement required.
