Job Description

Do you want to help make a big difference in student's lives while working for a supportive employer? Bi-County Special Education Cooperative (BCSEC) is hiring a Junior High Life Skills Teacher to join its team in Morrison, IL for the 2026-2027 school year. As a Life Skills Teacher with BCSEC , you will serve as a leader, mentor, and advocate for students with disabilities, helping them build essential life, academic, and vocational skills that promote independence and long-term success. You'll collaborate with a passionate, multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment where each student is supported and celebrated. This position offers small class sizes of no more than 13 students, supporting meaningful, individualized instruction in a well-equipped classroom and home economics space. BCSEC provides a strong instruction foundation and a collaborative supportive team.

Job Duties:
Maintain responsibility for the overall care of students and operation of the classroom to which assigned Participate in the development of IEPs for all students in the classroom and maintain responsibility for implementation and monitoring the IEP Maintain close communication with administration and parent regarding any potential problems Recommend to the administration materials and equipment necessary to carry out the assigned programs
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education required; special education emphasis is preferred Illinois State Professional Educator License required; Learning Behavior Specialist license (LBS1) preferred If you're ready to lead with purpose and help students build skills, apply now to join a dedicated team of education professionals.
