JOB OVERVIEW
To provide Mathematics instruction to Middle School Students
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and Illinois State Standards Provide engaging lessons by using a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to meet student's varying needs and interests Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate Maintain accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations Participate in professional development in order to provide the highest level of instruction to students This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by employees assigned to this position and is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS
Letters of application Recommendations and/or references Ability to work as a team member and previous experience with middle school age children is preferred Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Illinois Teaching Certificate (Type 03 or 09 with middle school math endorsement) Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first. If no previous teaching experience in the specific class, recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will be considered. Ability to speak a foreign language is preferred
