 Building Principal Position Summary Willow Creek Middle School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Social Studies teacher. The ideal candidate creates engaging, inquiry-driven learning experiences, fosters strong relationships with students, and collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary teams. This teacher will help students develop historical thinking skills, civic understanding, geographic literacy, and the ability to analyze multiple perspectives. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in 6th and 7th grade social studies courses Use a variety of instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, discussion, and student inquiry Design lessons that integrate literacy, primary sources, and evidence-based reasoning Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional decisions Create a positive, structured classroom culture that supports student engagement and belonging Collaborate with grade-level and interdisciplinary teams on curriculum, assessments, and student support Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Incorporate instructional technology to enhance learning Participate in professional learning and ongoing school improvement efforts Support the school's mission, values, and student-centered approach Qualifications Valid Indiana Teaching License in Social Studies (or appropriate content area) for middle school grades, or eligibility for licensure Any questions should be directed to Jane Bitting, Principal, jane.bitting@nacs.k12.in.us
