High School Principal Position Overview Frankfort High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Automotive Technology Teacher to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team. The successful candidate will prepare students for careers in the automotive industry through hands-on, project-based instruction aligned with industry standards and emerging technologies. The Automotive Technology Teacher will provide engaging instruction in automotive maintenance, diagnostics, repair procedures, shop safety, and industry practices while helping students develop employability skills and career readiness. Opportunities exist to collaborate with local industry partners and expand student access to certifications, internships, dual credit opportunities, and work-based learning experiences. Qualifications Valid Indiana Teaching License in Automotive Technology or eligibility for a Workplace Specialist License. Bachelor's degree preferred. Industry experience in automotive technology, diagnostics, repair, or related fields preferred. Knowledge of current automotive systems, including electrical, computerized diagnostics, hybrid and emerging vehicle technologies. Ability to create a safe, organized, and engaging laboratory/shop environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with students, families, staff, and community partners. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Proficiency with instructional technology and industry-related software and equipment. Commitment to preparing students for postsecondary education, industry certifications, apprenticeships, and careers. Essential Responsibilities Teach Automotive Technology courses aligned with Indiana Academic Standards and CTE program requirements. Provide hands-on instruction in vehicle systems, maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair. Maintain a safe and organized automotive laboratory environment that complies with all safety regulations. Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional activities that engage students in authentic learning experiences. Build relationships with local businesses and industry partners to support internships, job shadowing, certifications, and career exploration. Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel. Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of industry trends and technologies. Support Frankfort High School's commitment to student achievement, career readiness, and workforce development.
