This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curricula, foster literacy skills, and support students' academic growth in a vibrant educational environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a commitment to educational excellence, ensuring every student thrives as a confident communicator and critical thinker. Duties Design and implement collaborative, comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative instructional strategies and learning technology tools. Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques that promote student engagement and respect. Develop and adapt curriculum materials using principles of instructional design, including creative writing, journalism, and linguistics to enhance literacy education. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and inquiry-based curriculum; provide timely feedback to support continuous improvement. Mentor students in developing strong writing skills, including copy editing, proofreading, and adherence to APA style and Chicago Manual of Style guidelines. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, and school-wide initiatives to enrich the learning experience. Engage in ongoing professional development related to higher education teaching methods, research techniques, library services integration, and special education practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field; Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students with a focus on language arts or literacy education. Experience with or IBMYP approaches is a plus. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies. Familiarity with standardized testing protocols and educational technology tools used for instruction and learning management systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate students and collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents. Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations. Demonstrated organizational skills for lesson planning, research integration, and managing multiple priorities within a busy school setting.
