Job Description

SUMMARY Global Prep Academy, a dual language school that connects students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and educates them together in a highly rigorous, engaging and nurturing environment. Using both English and Spanish to instruct students in all core content areas, students will develop high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, as well as a deep value and understanding of other cultures. As citizens in a global world, students at Global Prep gain limitless access to other cultures through bilingualism and instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking using global perspectives and experiential learning. We are currently hiring a multilingual learner teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Global Prep teachers are highly energetic, self-motivated leaders who are committed to educating ethnic and linguistically diverse students. Position summary The MLL teacher is a licensed teacher who is a part of the instructional team. He/She/they works specifically with grade level teams to provide small group and in class interventions to students who are multilingual learners. They are also responsible for supporting general education teachers with language acquisition strategies to promote 2nd language learners with meaningful participation in class.  Skills and qualifications Valid teaching license with an
ESL/ENL/TESOL
endorsement or a valid license with an ESL/EFL certificate from an accredited institution. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of language acquisition, language levels, differentiate instruction, instructional strategies for 2nd language learners, classroom management, language assessments and research related to language acquisition. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development. Have experience working in urban education and meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Job description:
The MLL Teacher provides specialized instruction for the purposes of developing the students' linguistic abilities so they can perform appropriately in the classroom.
Responsibilities include:
Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English in the regular classroom. Align instruction to the school mission and vision. Develop and deliver lesson plans utilizing a broad range of appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies addressing all aspects of communication that develop each student's ability to read, write, speak, and listen in content areas to allow English learners to meaningfully access grade level content. Administer academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student's progress in meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition. Maintain complete and accurate records of student's progress and evidence of growth and progress. Participate actively in professional development opportunities according to his/her functions Provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment with high expectations that encourage student responsibility, enhance motivation. Clearly communicates classroom routines, and incorporates challenging instructional strategies. Facilitate frequent and effective home‐school communication.
