Location:
St. Martin Parish Schools District Office Social Studies Teacher (Middle School, Grades 5-8): See attached job description.
Key Requirements and Qualifications Certification:
Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Social Studies (Grades 4-8 or 6-12, as applicable) in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education guidelines (Bulletin 746).
Education:
Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Social Studies, History, Geography, Political Science, Education, or a related field.
Experience:
2+ years of teaching experience is frequently preferred.
Content Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of Louisiana Student Standards for Social Studies for grades 5-8, including history, geography, civics, and economics, as well as curriculum implementation.
Skills:
Strong written and oral communication skills; effective classroom management; ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs; and ability to use data-driven instruction to improve student achievement.
