Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Welding Teacher to join our dedicated team at a vibrant high school. In this role, you will inspire students to develop their welding skills, understand safety protocols, and explore career opportunities in the trades. Your enthusiasm for teaching and expertise in welding techniques will foster a dynamic learning environment where students can thrive and achieve their goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople while promoting hands-on learning and safety awareness. This is a ten (10) month position effective for the 2026-2027 school session. Qualifications for this position are a Bachelor's Degree and a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or meets CTTIE Certificate eligibility. Duties Deliver engaging welding instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including demonstrations, hands-on practice, and multimedia resources. Maintain a safe classroom environment by enforcing safety rules, managing equipment use, and conducting regular safety drills. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate welding skills into broader career and technical education programs. Mentor students in developing professional skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication relevant to the trades industry. Skills Extensive knowledge of welding techniques, safety standards, and industry best practices. Strong understanding of math concepts including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, calculus, and their applications in welding projects. Excellent classroom management skills with experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting. Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles and learning technology tools.
