- Full-time We are seeking a dedicated Elementary Enrichment Specialist and After-School Lead Guide to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about educating young minds, possess strong classroom management skills, and have experience working with students in various educational settings.
The role includes:
Collaborating with the Elementary Team to support students during the morning and afternoon work cycles. Creating, planning and supervising aftercare programming. Creating, planning, and implementing a daily enrichment class. Examples of enrichment areas of study : Physical Education guided group body movement through activities such as yoga, dance, outdoor team games, skiing); Homesteading (hands-on crafting and nature-based activities such as cooking, gardening, sewing); Theater (guiding students in theatrical projects such as improv-based games and activities, acting methods, performing adult-written plays); STEM (hands-on building and engineering activities such as physical science experiments, basic chemistry, geology) Responsibilities include: Supporting the Elementary Team in maintaining a beautiful, orderly, and well-prepared Montessori Elementary environment that reflects high standards of care, organization, and intentionality. Assisting in the daily work cycle, including supporting lessons and follow-up work, and reinforcing Montessori routines and expectations. Planning and preparing materials to provide daily elementary enrichment classes using effective teaching methods and engaging lesson plans. Implementing classroom management techniques to create a positive and structured learning environment that fosters academic growth and personal development. Building warm, respectful, and trusting relationships with students; supporting a classroom culture that fosters inclusion, student agency, confidence, community, belonging, and a belief that all students can excel. Providing individualized support to students with special education needs. Coordinating the programming for an engaging and dynamic elementary aftercare program. Overseeing child wellbeing and engagement during after-school hours. Communicating appropriately with families at pick-up. Collaborating with the Elementary team on student support and cross-curricular connections. Planning and implementing school break programming for up to two break weeks.
The ideal candidate will:
Know and love Montessori education (or be an avid learner). Have prior experience in elementary education or related field working with children ages 6-12 years old. Be able to confidently teach and play physical games with children and engage in guided activities (e.g. sports, imaginative play, guided games). Have a strong initiative and work ethic. Be a team player, solution-oriented, and openly communicative with team members on a daily basis. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students. Have a commitment to learning about and utilizing Anti-Bias, Anti-Racist (ABAR) educational practices. No calls, please. The position will stay posted until filled.
