Job Description

About Lincoln Extended Day Lincoln Extended Day (LExD) is currently looking for imaginative and enthusiastic educators to join our teaching staff for the 2026-27 school year! LExD is a private nonprofit after school program that works with K-5 students attending public school in Brookline, MA. Our program is rooted in restorative practices, and focuses mainly on social-emotional learning (SEL) and creating intentional community. We also have a lot of fun, with activities ranging from cooking, sports, tabletop roleplay, crochet, and everything in between. Our teaching staff co-lead a series of engaging and age appropriate activities each day, in collaboration with their teaching team. Other non-teaching duties include communicating with families, attending team meetings, preparing classrooms for daily activities and cleaning up classroom areas after students have been picked up. Staff must also write annual, short progress reports for the children in their group. Qualifications We are looking for teachers who are interested in art, music, sports, theater, and have experience with restorative justice and/or mindful approaches to learning and building community. Folks with a background in team sports or other athletics are especially encouraged to apply. A Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework is a bonus. All applicants must have at least one year of experience working with youth. Hours Mandatory (paid) staff orientation: Wednesday, August 26th - September 2. Hours are 9a-4p each day. Regular daily hours begin September 3rd and are as follows:

1:30pm -6:00pm
Tu:
1:30 -7:10 (weekly staff meeting from 6-7:10).
W:
1:30 - 6:00
