College Intern, Summer Career Academy in AI
Position:
College Intern, Summer Career Academy in AI
Job Goal:
Assist in teaching students data science and agentic AI skills in a 4-week summer academy. The program is part of the career pathways program which offers Burlington High School students an opportunity for career exploration and work-related learning experiences. Student interns work in a team, supervised by a classroom teacher, and teach AI skills to students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Join a team of three college interns and teach 25 High School students about python, machine learning and AI. Meet with the Program Director prior to the start date to review the curriculum and meet the team. Provide one-on-one guidance as needed to students.
Help students decide on a project idea and provide guidance and support.
Requirements:
Declared or Intended BA or BS in computer science or a related field by the start of the program. Experience with at least one programming language and have project experience.
Experience with data science, machine learning, and AI agents.
Good communication skills.
Previous teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience, especially in computer science is strongly preferred.
Ability to adapt to various learning styles and respect for individual differences of students.
Must be able to collaborate with other team members and share classroom responsibilities.
Strong time management, organizational and communication skills.
