The Opportunity:
Darby Vassall Lane Upper School seeks a passionate and creative educator to join our team as a 6th Grade Teacher. As a Grade 6 Teacher, you will commit to providing a diverse group of student learners with superior instruction, using the district curriculum and common assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with all team members, including but not limited to special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and other support personnel Support students in using technological tools, including Chromebooks, and Google Docs. Incorporate a variety of assessment strategies, including district-wide exams and formative assessment, in order to inform instruction and target intervention and enrichment needs Integrating social learning into the classroom will work to foster a safe, caring, and active learning community Partner with families and include them in the students' learning and development, as well as encourage families to further the mission of the school Build on established partnerships with surrounding community institutions and organizations
Your Skill Set:
As the incoming Teacher, you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred. Massachusetts teacher certification/licensure required. Recent successful experience teaching middle school in a student-centered classroom with inquiry-based methodologies in an urban, multicultural setting.
