2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR MATH TEACHER The Middle School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and student engagement. The teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment aligned with Massachusetts State Standards that supports the diverse learning needs of all students while fostering positive relationships and high expectations. The Middle School Mathematics Teacher collaborates with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure all students have equitable access to grade-level content and opportunities for academic growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required Valid Massachusetts 5-8 teacher license in Mathematics Experience supporting students through multiple representations, discourse-based instruction, and conceptual learning approaches Strong knowledge of the MA state standards and the effective teaching and learning practices that promote mathematical success for all learners, including the ability to: Establish mathematical goals to focus learning Implement tasks that promote reasoning and problem-solving Use and connect mathematical representations Facilitate meaningful mathematical discourse Pose purposeful questions Build procedural fluency from conceptual understanding Support productive struggle in learning mathematics Elicit and use evidence of student thinking Use data to inform instruction and intervention Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and Mathematics Content Specialists Experience working with special education students and English Language Learners Salary commensurate with related experience.
