Middle School Science Teacher Medford, MA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Middle school teaching Student performance assessment strategies Classroom management Student record keeping Teaching Certification Mid-level Master's degree Bachelor's degree Curriculum implementation Working with middle schoolers Lesson planning Standardized test administration Bachelor's degree in education Teaching K-12 education instructional development Full Job Description SY 2026/2027Position PurposeUnder the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through: implementing district approved curriculum; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, activities, and expectations.

Performance ResponsibilitiesDevelops and administers middle schoolcurriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.

Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized andsmall group instruction, and student learning.

Plans lesson plans and instructional materials.

Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning.

Maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, andattendance as required by the CBA agreement between the Medford Public Schools and the Medford Teachers Association.

Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well asdifferentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.

Knowledge of middle school technology curriculum andconceptsAbility to engage in self-evaluation process with regard to performance and professional growth as required in the CBA agreement between the Medford Teachers Association and the Medford Public Schools.
Qualifications:
MA State CertificationBachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

Masters Degree preferred.

ExperienceSuccessful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level or discipline preferred.

Salary is in accordance with the
