Qualifications:
  • Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License -Certified in Health Education; Middle School,
  • Strong understanding of Massachusetts Comprehensive Health Frameworks,
  • Strong understanding of the middle level child, motivation theories, and an expert at engaging all students in the Health education curriculum,
  • A passion for teaching Middle school children and helping them to achieve their fullest potential,
  • Ability to think, work and teach interdisciplinary content,
  • Exceptional content and pedagogy knowledge with the ability to make meaningful transfer connections across content areas,
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and lesson planning,
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the school and for working collaboratively with fellow school community members,
  • A positive person, willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and culture;
Requirements:
  • Enthusiastic and student-centered; committed to educating all students to the core concepts of the five Guiding Principles and Strands and Standards of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health Curriculum Framework,
  • Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student,
  • Experience in Response to Intervention; PBIS, SEI,
  • Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property,
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the health education areas,
  • Assesses and evaluates each pupil's growth in skills, content knowledge, and class contribution,
  • Selects and requisitions equipment, and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records,
  • Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress; supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day,
  • Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities,
  • Eagerness to communicate and develop positive bonds with parents,
  • Willingness to become consistently involved in athletic coaching in district,
  • Perform assigned tasks and duties designated by the building principal.
