IACS 101/102
for the upcoming school year. Successful candidates will be passionate learners and collaborators who are committed to the schools mission and invested in the academic and social-emotional learning of all students. Our school has a close-knit community of teachers, students, administration, and parents. Teachers serve as advisors to a group of 12-13 students each year, building strong relationships with students outside of the academic classroom. The teacher would work closely to collaborate with their counterpart to implement lessons that explicitly teach and reinforce executive functioning skills, behavior expectations across settings, and social emotional skills for a 5th grade
IACS 101
course and 6th grade
IACS 102
course. This course serves as an entry point to middle school, helping students build executive functioning skills, emotional regulation skills, as well as learn about our four school outcomes of effective communication, self-direction, community membership, and problem-solving. The
IACS 101/102
teachers will support students academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development within a collaborative, culturally responsive school environment. One aspect of this role will involve working closely with the Middle School Principal Team to provide additional support to students' in their transition to middle school. Situated in Tyngsboro, MA (near the intersection of routes 3 and 495), IACS draws a diverse student body from neighboring districts, including Lowell, Dracut, and Chelmsford, as well as Tyngsboro. Our community represents 19 languages spoken, 39% students of color, 25% of students on special education plans, and a community of students and staff that identify as
LGBTQ. IACS
has a strong mentoring program for teachers new to the school and those new to teaching, including career changers. We welcome candidates who are committed to their own professional learning, open to feedback, and committed to collaboration.
