Title:
Wayland METCO High School Summer Transitions Program Staff
Position Summary:
In an effort to help better assist METCO Students as they transition from the middle school to high school. We are seeking 3 content area teachers. Priority will be given to 9th Grade ELA, Geometry or Biology teachers. Along with support in these areas the goal will be help foster better student skills, relationship with staff and familiarize students with the increased academic expectations that will come with the transition. The program will run for two weeks from August 10 - August 21st at Wayland High School from 8:30 - 2:30pm. Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): Collaborate with METCO Summer Transitions Program Team. Positions on the team include some or all of the following: teaching a course or enrichment, participating in Fridays Fieldtrips, join opening and/or closing circle as well as community lunch. •Respobsibilities may vary with staff members individual schedule.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred. •Interested TAs are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
Previous experience working with 9th graders is highly preferred.
Cultural Competency:
Experience with diverse populations and a strong commitment to Wayland's goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Professionalism:
Strong communication skills and the personal characteristics necessary to serve as a positive role model for students.

Friday Salary:
$65.67 (Teacher) $29.48 (Teaching Assistant) • Flexibility available for interested teacher to cover time needed for instruction and academic support only.
