West Springfield Middle SchoolEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Introduce and implement effective instructional strategies with teachers and administrators
  • Provide instructional coaching to classroom teachers
  • Provide demonstration lessons in Illustrative Math, StudySync, or respective curriculum
  • Align the coaching process and demonstration lessons with school identified gap areas
  • Participate and facilitate in additional district-based committee meetings/initiatives
  • Record and report on student growth over time, as requested
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the Middle School principal, Middle School department chairs, other coaches and the Directorof Curriculum
  • Facilitate the development and update of the Middle School Scope and Sequence guides as necessary
  • Present district professional development in instruction
  • Provide suggestions on site-based direction for professional development in instruction.
Qualifications:
All content licenses will be considered Masters Degree from an accredited four year college/university/ preferably with a strong content background Extensive familiarity and use of the MA Frameworks Extensive background, training and expertise in instruction which closely reflects the expectations of the MA DESE Experience as a professional development facilitator preferred
